"The best we can hope for" does not exactly inspire confidence Nigel. Both you and I know it will take years to renegotiate new terms with the WTO that MAY be favourable to the UK. I am sure we both know that the UK is in a very weak position to negotiate anything at the moment. No, I don't 'know that'. WTO terms are already set. They are the general terms on which the whole world trades (in the absence of specific agreements). They will not take years to 're-negotiate'. I think you are displaying the general level of ignorance about how world trade is actually conducted.
