As a Blitz baby in west London I used to be put to sleep under the stairs. Maybe that is why I don't like bangs. Also I hate the wastefulness and the taste of the air when a lot of fireworks have been let off for weeks. As well as scared animals. Unnecessary. There are rules in place, which have improved things a bit (I live a mile from a wedding venue and there used to be noisy displays late almost every Saturday). But the noisy ones shouldn't be sold to the public.
