Talking Scottish Comfort Food Blues

I went to the caffe the other day      couldn't resist    it was on my way

Found a seat right up against a wall

Looked at the board    couldn't decide    So many things I happened to like

Thought it best just to have them all

CH      Chocolate when you've a heart to mend

Pie and beans when you overspend

Rocky Road when the weather is no good

You'll really love a potato wedge

                Carrot cake without the veg

Thank you, Lord, for all the comfort food

Down at the shop it's three for two    pic 'n mix   they'll get to you

Temptation's always in my way

When the cashier sees my basket   they ask me "Where's the banquet ?"

I lie and say I've      asked some friends to stay

        CH        Choc....

They say some grub's good for the soul    organic produce'll make you whole

But it's twice the price and often hard to find

And the sort of restaurant that I like   ain't in the Egon Ronay guide

It's called a Greasy Spoon but I don't mind

        CH        Choc....

Well you'll often have to hide your treats   in your drawers or down the back of seats

Cause if you don't you might have to share

If sometime at a later date you come across a mouldy cake

That's because you've forgotten it was there

        CH        Choc...
