Well most of Norfolk UK is made up of small villages Donuel. It's a rural kind of region, and in the Middle Ages in each settlement there would have been a Manor House where the Squire lived (our village has one) and he owned three or four farms (three in ours). The farm workers lived in cottages (our village has those too) and there is always a Norman church (we've got one of those, built in the 12th Century) There was a Vicarage for the Minister (yes) and a little school from Victorian times (yes) Each village has a fairly small population and a lovely community spirit. Most people know everyone who lives here, and we all watch over each other. I don't think I could bear to live in a large city now. I adore village life.
