Here's my shot at it. A few words I'm not sure of: quere in 1st line, and fui cerca in the 3rd. It would be good if a fluent Spanish speaker could have a listen. Both Bill's solo version and his Home Service version are on youtube. Bill's diction is mostly pretty clear.

STAY ON THE LINE
(Bill Caddick)

Where are the lights that once used to brighten our darkest days?
They've gone from your eyes and the only thing shines there is tears.
Oh I know these are hard times, but when were they ever that easy?
Grey clouds'll always be with us, but somehow the sky always clears.

  Chorus:
Won't you stay on the line, we don't like to lose you.
Won't you stay on the line, now that we need you.
Won't you stay on the line?

Don't sit all alone, don't hide from the people who pass your way.
Don't run to the bottle whenever you hear someone call.
Ah, we all need a hideaway place we can turn to from time to time,
But you must leave it sooner or later, or in the end you gain nothing at all.

  Chorus

Donde se quere la vida, se queda sin empeƱar.
Las mentiras se pierden dentro dulce amar.
Pues mirame cara a cara fui cerca y dimelo
Que temprano se sabra por donde,
Y como se va acabar

  Instrumental verse

  Chorus

Don't let 'em fool you, they think they know better, they always do.
Don't take what they offer, remember to be your own man.
Ah, just take your time, there's no need to hurry, you'll find your way.
Only cry when you feel you've a need to, laugh whenever you can.

  Chorus x2
