Meself, I gotta say, I'm torn on this one. I see both sides. But then again, I really like this song. I can think of a number of women I'd like to sing it with, but I don't think I'd get up the courage to ask them. All in all, it IS a pretty daring song, to have been written in 1944. The Wikipedia article on the song is interesting, as is a piece from National Public Radio. Oh, and there's an interesting take on the issue in Variety. But what I called the "Weinstein/Ailes" mentality is very strong, and it's a daunting hurdle for women. Seems to me, we may need a little overcorrection to defeat Weinstein/Ailes - I'm willing to sacrifice this song, if that's what it takes.
