even where the writer is known, and comparatively blameless ... what about their proofreader, their publisher, the singer/s that made the song famous, the DJs that played the song ... I once read an interview with Gyorgy Lukacs where he said "an artist is responsible for the use of their work till the end of time". Interviewer gulped a bit and asked Lukacs for an example of somebody who passed his test. Lukacs said "there is not a bar of Mozart that can be misused".
