Give, give, give until you can't anymore. Then, give again, give more, and repeat! I think the great sucking sound that Ross Perot warned us about was the sound of people's well-being being sucked out of them by a massive vacuum of un-fulfilled need. The trouble I have with that is I am always forced to say "No", which makes me feel guilty. And if I do send some outfit or other a twenty, my gratification and sense of virtue only lasts a few hours before it evaporates in the face of the onslaught of need. Life is tough on all sides of the divide. I am grateful I have a roof and indoor plumbing. That much I can say. VEry grateful, but don't ask me to whom, as I surely could not say.
