Irving Berlin’s “Play A Simple Melody” includes a countermelody/song “I Want T Listen To Rag.” “It’s A Sin To Tell A Lie” fits perfect with “Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter.” The musical The Music Man also has a quodlibet, with one song being Lisa Rose and the countermelody being the one that goes “Dream of love (me?” but the title of which I can’t recall. And one that Amos and I recorded years ago in his garage office/studio is the duet where one person sings “Bill Bailey” and the other sings “Just Because.” I sing these often in various performances or jams or song circles but I can’t do them as a duet without technological help.
