Nick, being the OP I don't really want to comment on individual song suggestions. But I'm really grateful to have had so many songs/performers/sources/genres suggested, it's introduced me to a wealth of fine music, quite apart from whatever I might choose to learn myself. In answer to Steve, I've lived for a long time in the Southampton area, although I was born and raised in east London, and have also lived in Essex.
