I'm very sorry to hear that. I first encountered Tim as a member of "De Dannan", at a concert they gave in Dundee, circa 1978 - shame he never recorded with them. He had a great store of comic songs, as well as being a superb ballad singer. A very fine melodeon player as well. I got to know him a bit better when he toured Scotland with Fintan Vallely, and they played Aberdeen Folk Club a few times in the mid- 80s. An absolute gentleman, a great character with great musical talent and especially wit. A great loss to Irish traditional music - a tragic start to 2019. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
