I have a section in my "Embro, Embro" pages about fishermen's songs, this one is in there. Most of it comes from a radio talk by Francis Collinson - the script is in his papers in the National Library of Scotland.

Scott could never resist embedding a beautiful fragment of tradition in a screed of crappy doggerel.
