Re earlier correspondence, the relevant parody was written by Alan Twelftree (not Twelvetree), who ran Peterborough Folk Club with Mike Herring & Alan Atterson.

Alan wrote 3 verses, ("Somehow the flowers")("I can't conceive" at which he would interject "I can't, really")"Somehow it seems that I will never be"). The "I took a look" I believe came from Jasper Carrott.
