In 1978, the Lancashire performer and researcher Harry Boardman issued an LP on an independant label AK Records after having released several LPs on the Topic label. (New Voices, Deep Lancashire, Oldham Edge, Transpennine, A Lancashire Mon). The Topic releases have been available as digital downloads for a while now, it has not been the case with Golden Stream which is considered to be Harry's finest outing on record. Mike Billington who owns the Epona record label got in touch with me to see if it would be possible to release Golden Stream on his label. We got the blessing of Harry's widow Lesley and their two sons and also the original recording engineer Keith Twort who owns the master tape. Keith has provided us with a digital transfer of the tape and with the addition of a couple of bonus tracks from a recording I made of Harry at a gig in 1983, we are about a month away from having the CD version of Golden Stream ready for issue. I will post again when it is ready for purchase from the Epona Records website. Epona Records Cheers Mark
