THANKS! Tomorrow at 17:10 Germany time, the world will celebrate the birth of a beautiful baby boy born in Zweibrücken to William Kenneth Owens and Marie Dora Corinne LeBlanc of Moncton, NB.ca. Yes, 17:10. Mum had to wait for Dad to get off work and get to the hospital... RCAF!

62! Hard to believe.

I have been smoking since I was 16. I have been drinking since I was 23. I ripped my knees apart playing sports. I ripped my hands apart boxing. I ripped my back apart working construction. I have been in auto, snowmobile, and ATV accidents. On one three week trip working on airstrips in Labrador, I nearly lost my life half a dozen times... boats, float planes, a forest fire. Minds me, and I don't count this as a life threatening incident, they say Orcas don’t eat people but I pissed myself when I swam to shore with five cod and four Arctic Char on my back (long story but I had some GREAT fishing in Labrador many times). Closer to home, in the fly infested bog country of Kent County, NB.ca, I had black bears stalk me several times... once, while fishing, I had to back into a beaver dam, pretend the water was deep by slowly getting on my knees when backing up, and dare one to come into the water and ‘play’ with me, my knife drawn. I’ve hand fed moose. I’ve petted moose. I’ve danced around a tree with moose when they were pissed off (hint : moose have four legs and I have two).

AND, that’s the tip of the iceberg. I've seen so many things and I've done so many things and I've been so many places... I was blessed by the pope in the square in Rome... held up as a lost child when Bro didn't watch me properly (he got a 'talkin' to over that! Dad was pissed!)

62! Hard to believe I made through this far. 62... whod’a thunk it!?

PS... I might even shave this porcupine off my face tomorrow in celebration of the coming spring. Had it since Labour Day and it looks AWFUL!
