"So, presumably, the OP is OK with Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland then? Or is he/she one of those ignorant people who doesn’t understand that those parts of The United Kingdom aren’t ‘England’?" The writer says at the start that only England was being talked about - and not the other parts of the UK - because the only experience was living in England and not the other parts of the UK. Not that I'm defending the actual article itself but that is the explanation for using England rather than UK or GB.
