bbc Memorial Gathering for Caroline Paton - May 12 (12) RE: Memorial Gathering for Caroline Paton - May 12 14 May 19

Sorry for the delay. I stayed overnight & didn't get home till Monday evening. It was a great time of remembrance & song. Between the service & the song circle, there was potluck & time to chat. Unfortunately, the building where the service & potluck were held was unheated. It was 45 degrees outside, with driving rain. The song circle was in a heated building, but to say the location was challenging for those with disabilities is putting it mildly. I will list names of folks I knew who might be of interest to mudcatters, but I know I will be missing many, so I hope others who were there might pick up the slack. And, my apologies for those I leave out!

Rose Sheehan led the service & did a great job, as did Lisa Null in leading the song circle! The service began with Dave Paton's group, Wild Cat Creek, playing & with the Abbot's Bromley Horn Dance.

There were folks from the D.C., Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, & Maine folk clubs, as well as, I'm sure, some other areas. Here are some names, in no particular order:

Charlie Baum, John Roberts, Deb Cowan, David Jones, Ed Trickett, Bob Zentz & Jeanne McDougall Zentz, Lui Collins, Pam Goddard, Kim Wallach, Kathy Westra, George Stevens, Dennis & Judy Cook, Susan Friedman, Clarice Kjerulff, Patti Gibney, Rosalie Friend & her daughter Julia, Jerry Rasmussen, Howie Bursen & Sally Rogers, Jennifer Woods (knitpick), Joy Bennett, Deirdre Murtha, Martha Burns, Suzanne Mrozak, Geoff Kaufman, Larry Kaplan, Robbie Wedeen, Ann Schunior, Lynn Feingold, Jane Rothfield, Heather Wood--a veritable Who's Who in the current Northeast folk community. We made harmony & hugged & remembered. I felt honored to be a part of it!

best,

Barbara
