GUEST,Rob Lyr Req: the cure of the corns (6) RE: Lyr Req: the cure of the corns 26 May 19

One evening I went for a ramble
It being not far from my home
When I met with a sweet little colleen
And hello love I says where you going

I led her along by the arm
Til we came to an old fashioned stile
And says she my poor feet are all corns
Would you mind sitting down for a while

We stayed there for two hours or longer
We stayed there til the clock it struck 10
Then she hung down her head and shyly she said
Those corns are at me again

I kissed her again like the devil
Till I thought she'd jump out of her boots
Oh says she young man take it easy
For they're coming out by the roots

Now I am sick of this business
And women gone out of my head
I roll home at 6 in the morning
And tumble myself into bed

And when I awake for the breakfast
and hear how loudly I snored
with the blankets and sheets wrapped around me
And the porter thrown out on the floor

Well now I am grown into manhood
And go out with the oldest of men
But whenever the humour comes on me
I'll go curing the corns again.
