Manchester has very good public transport; trams and buses serve both football grounds. Manchester City play at the Etihad Stadium beside the Ashton Canal. It has its own Metro tram stop - Etihad Campus - on the Ashton-under-Lyne line. Manchester United play at Old Trafford beside the Bridgewater Canal. (The nearby Lancashire Cricket Ground is also called Old Trafford.) It lies between two Metro lines. To the south, the nearest Metro stop on the Altrincham line is Old Trafford - which is actually beside the cricket ground (approx 1km walk). To the north is the Metro terminus at Media City, also serving the Lowry Centre (approx 1.5km walk).
