There's another "drooped wings" song, recorded by a black convict group, possibly by the Library of Congress(?). That phrase seems to hint at some distant relationship though the two songs appear very different. Frustratingly, I cannot find the reference, and I no longer have the recording, but my notated copy of the song is as follows. Maybe one of you can help identify it. Based on the chorus, an alternate title might be "Carry the News."
