Sonnet 02/4/2019 Lust in the Littoral Realm MCCXLIV I dream of bright–eyed mermaid in the light Of moon and stars. Can I find even one Who might give me her smile? Might she delight In having hold of heart? Has dream begun That leads to my heart’s healing? Should I think I might have a chance to saline kisses share? I know that I might some affection drink From mermaid’s lips, if I would only dare. I long to hold this mermaid, and now try To find hope for heart’s desire, for a while. Her love may kill me, but I know that I Will die with less regret, and with a smile. Just let me drown in mermaid’s loving arms, That I might breathe my last from her sweet charms.
