Morticia, I am very glad you made this post. I too found her humor to be extraoridary. Sometimes, I would cross her path when I was living in Phoenix, nice woman. She lived about a mile from my house. I think of her every time I do a load of wash containing socks. She alone explained the missing sock phenomenon in laundry.

Not to take anything away from Erma, but a certain Mudcatter has a similar flair although often ribald which she wasn't. So maybe the energy of Erma lives on here on the forum.
