I am trying to find out whether there actually is a song with the above title. I found what is supposed to be a translation in the 1853 Dublin University Magazine, but the nearest song to
that title is 'A bhean úd thíos ar bhruach..' and that's NOT what the 'translation' is about. I have searched all my usual sources without any success.

The author of the article wrote;- "our translation of an Irish song, addressed by a peasant to a fair cousin with whom he was in love. The name of the writer is unknown to us, but the song was very popular in Munster, in the days now gone by."

I can supply the English lyrics if anyone is interested, but I think that there may not BE an Irish original.
