Amateur any way you please.

Most industry pros will still need a union card and paperwork to go with the personal (pro)nouns and verbiage.

Classical & stage work will sort of expect you to have gone through a formal system at some point. Folk, rock, jazz &c are more forgiving but there are still union rules for large venues, studios &c that aren't optional.
