I G7 long for you and for C home. I'm not saying that these are the actual chords used by Lead Belly, but the sequence seems to fit. You can change from G to G7 etc. but I tend to simplify my chords and rely on my voice to carry the song. I think the Jimmie Rodgers song pretty well fits the bill for the lyrics. It was once known as, That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine, until, it seems, Lead Belly worked on it.
