My friend Dave Hamil has finally published a memoir of his life as a folk musician performing in the 1950s through the 1970s mostly in the American Southwest, California, the Rocky Mountain states, and the Midwest with some incursions into the East. Dave knew and often shared houses or apartments and sometimes the stage with many now well-known performers who were on their way up. Though he was with The Back Porch Majority for awhile and often worked for Glenn Yarbrough at the Lime Light in Aspen, he preferred to travel from town to town working for smaller folk venues as a solo performer or with one or two musical partners rather than the faster paced, higher pressure life of a big time commercial folk ensemble. I helped copyedit his memoir, Those Hot Dusty Roads: An American Folksinger's Odyssey which is now available at Amazon -- Those Hot Dusty Roads It's very interesting reading! Linn
