A lot of us were also at the same time listening to and involved with folk music... There was far more inter related crossover than you will ever recognise and give credit... A friend of mine was also well into the punk scene from the start. He figured that much of that generation ended up as world music aficionados - his way of resolving the dialectic was to set up a samba-punk fusion band.
