I really don't get it. You say you want to talk about the current state of folk music. Surely it is relevant that throughout the world and certainly in our country, there are more high quality instruments available at prices we can afford than any point in history. THe strange thing is that trad artists from Michael Coleman to Leadbelly had access to instruments. You can't help but feel - they must have been exceptionally lucky in that respect - luckier than average folk. This present situation is MAJOR change that WE have witnessed.
