Anyway,I think Peat and Deisel are a refreshing phenomenon on the Scottish Scene. Not all of their songs are to my taste and I agree they are not the most polished singers and musicians either.

However, they are the perfect antidote to the "virtuoso" musicians straight out of The Conservatoire/Folk University Course scene. Of course, many of these young people are excellent too and have/will make a great contribution to our traditional music. However, it's great to see down to earth guys getting together, playing music for fun and establishing a reputation through word of mouth (OK with the help of social media too)from the grass roots up.
