Just read on the internet of the death of the superb banjo player, Pete Stanley. He was the musical partner of both Wizz Jones and of Brian Golbey back in the 1960s and made lots of radio broadcasts with them - particularly on the BBC's 'Country Meets Folk'. Pete and Brian toured all over the country but seemed to find a special place in Sussex where Brian was born and was based. Reports reaching me told me that he had not been in good health for some time and the last time that I saw him was at Tom Paley's funeral.
