I'm almost hypnotized by the impeachment trial. Firstly, there are some pretty good lawyers, some famous for being paid a lot, and some of the ones who are famous for being paid a lot are good. There's the chief justice of the Supreme Court presiding over the conduct of the trial, and Mitch McConnell, one of the most astute and evil Senators of recent times presiding over the proceedings of the Senate. I have found excellent speakers on both sides. One of the President's lawsyers, I think but I didn't get the name, was Cippolone. The other was Dershowitz. I think they both showed great linguistic skill in defending the President. Sekulow has a lot of attitude, but I think he is prime misdirector of the argument. He will obfuscate out of every side of his mouth, and he has more sides than most. Most likely to graduate to mob lawyer. So far, I find Adam Schiff to be the moral conscience of the entire case. And He doesn't seem to miss anything; his clarity of diction and plain speaking of the principles he is defending, his elocution, is a marvel. I also think a lot of Zoe Lofgren. I admit to a slight chance that I'm partisan on this issue.
