Irish Traditional Crafts – Artisans – Music – History – Documentary series

I have just had the good fortune to come across the IRISH HISTORY DOCUMENTARIES channel on You Tube :

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC72uiPtow2Yz_G9yvTeJTOA/videos

NOT ONLY are there HOURS of music from 1960s-1990s in 4 looong clips :

[ Come West Along The Road, Volume 1-4 : Irish Traditional Music Treasures 1960s - 1980s ]

But there are MANY other fabulous clips, including the 37 episode HANDS series, of Crafts & Making :

I’ve just shed tears over the tragic ending of the one from 1985 entitled “English Silk” (ok, so no Irish in that one!) but a “Must See” doco on the incredible long-standing traditions of Silkworm Farming and Silk fabric making and printing in England – and especially of the making of the printing Blocks and the Tools to make them – which is now all gone (basically because Accountants now rule the world and Artisans are little valued – and yes, we are ALL the poorer for that!)

ANYHOO :) just the excellent HANDS series alone, covers 37 clips in : / Willow, Rush & Straw / Textiles / Wood / Ceramics, Metal & Stone / Leather / and Others //
PLUS there are absolutely HOURS of a wide range of viewing pleasure on this channel!!!

Please ENJOY!

Cheers,
Rich-Joy
