@Pseudonymous. I think you are confusing what Sharp said and did with Harker's 'mediation' of that. First paragraph of Chapter 1 of "Some Conclusions" has, for example, "Indications, therefore, of those special gifts for which a nation is renowned will usually be conspicuous in the output of its lower and unlettered classes." We need to read the rest, of course, for the context. Beware the mediator!
