Of course, you did not mean to imply that is was me, but it is possible that his post might be read that way by someone who had not followed the thread. Let me know what you make of McCarthy. He says that 'fascicles' of the book on Minstrelsy began to appear in 1824, and that at first Motherwell was just a contributor but that in time he became editor as well and that the complete work was published in 1827.
