I don't often rate Lloyd but from time to time he makes a reasonable point. On commercial folk stuff he says there is nowt wrong with making money as it gets the songs sung, but he does regret that copyright can interfere with things (not sure how much he made from this source but as Harker points out he did all right out of the business and good luck to him on one level). Lloyd calls it a 'grey area'. But since he acknowledges the role of broadsheets (the Psyche's seeds quotation) he also realises that commercial elements have been involved for centuries.
