Hi, I have been driven daft trying to find the origin of the lyrics below, which I heard amongst a reel-to-reel mix tape of my brothers about 40 years ago. I've asked him and he can't ID them, I've tried goodness knows how many times to find them on the internet with no joy, and have used the search facility on this site also with no joy. Posting here in the hope that someone may recognise and be able to put me out of my misery!! For some reason I though they might have been part of a song by Greenslade, but I've grown to believe that may be a red herring. Lyric follows (as best I can remember) : "I'm a dreamer of dreams / a mysterious man / nothing is what it seems / nothing follows the plan / I'm a part of {can't remember the next bit exactly} // May the sands of time run out on you / May your days of trouble [do de-do] /May you [dah, da-dah da] for all time / may the sands of time run out on you" It's driving me mad!!
