I see that in my old Fairport Songbook, the melody line is a clumsy combination of 3/4 and 4/4 time, and labelled as traditional arrangement by Swarbrick. To me, it sounds like a hybrid of The Butterfly and Kid on the Mountain, with some notes missed out (as suggested). |
