I'd be surprised if "The Butterfly" - ie, the 3-part slip jig partially composed / compiled by Dublin fiddler Tommy Potts - was anything to do with this. Potts recorded his own highly individual version in 1972, 3 years after "Liege And Lief", and even then it didn't really become well known until the Bothy Band recorded it in 1975. |
