Wish I knew for sure, but I think maybe the first 4 lines did not alternate in rhyming as I had previously stated. The rest of the song rhymes every line after each other, so that would not be consistent with the format if you alternate with rhyming. Therefore, I think rhyming is with the previous line and not alternating. So it would have to go: Look toward the east whence comes a glowing light Faith beckons you with promise ever bright Golden horizons heralding the day Hope will abide with you along the way (then all the rest is as we all agree and remember)
