Just one note on the surname, without really wanting to infer anything more than the fact itself.
One of the elements of Cockney backchat is some of the Rom tongue, picked up by the arrival of a wave of gypsies in the 16th Century. Many of these settled as a tribal group in Bermondsey, distinctive for their Catholic adherence, and prominent among them was a family truly named Brown. They were mostly displaced into the Sidcup area by the WW2 bombing.
