Tony Cuffe was around and performing songs such as this on the Scottish folk scene for at least 4 few years before "Ossian" formed in 1976, and Tony didn't record it with them until 1982. "The Dove Across The Water" sleeve lists "Braw Sailin' On The Sea" as : "Traditional / Cuffe" - ie words traditional, melody composed by [Tony] Cuffe".
