I've had that happen with the freezer door - and after such an event make sure to test the door every time. I picked another bowl of tomatoes and am now looking at several quarts of tomatoes when I can. I blanch and peel then dice, though these tomatoes are smaller and I may blanch and can them whole in pint jars.
