Editing and rewriting is actively encouraged in Southern Songster. The more versions of the songs that are produced the better. Time will tell which ones survive. Martin Carthy encouraged me to read music and sing from the page. It is very useful. When you find the root note, and work out the scale and accidentals, it's easier than you think. Rumncoke you are welcome to the Mp3 files of the tunes if it will help your studies. My Email is as above.
