Mudcat, being from the Good Old Times when Jesus still spoke English, uses a prehistoric treatment of characters from other languages. About a year ago, things got even worse, because until then at least the appearance in the Preview window coincided with the eventual one – now it's only éventuel. Although many Western European characters currently work OK, we best use HTML codes for all non-English characters (– who knows what our Max Spiegel will be up to in the future?!). You now know how that works: typing aranyszőrű yields aranyszőrű, both in the Preview and in the thread (when retrieved from the database). How many languages I have? As many as Google Translate offers. A tiny bit of additional knowledge helps a lot, but does not make me anything near an expert. Often I am at a loss and have to ask native speakers - whose answer is not always reliable either.
