I found a recording, with exactly the lyrics as posted above. Such records were primarily used for dancing, and the orchestra was considered the main feature. Therefore they may well have omitted some verses, as can easily be seen with other songs, even well-known ones.

As I suspected, the music is only a pale shadow of earlier glamour, pretty march-like, as if to symbolize a mechanical doll or puppet.

Remains the question why the German. If we take the lyrics literally, the girl doll is from overseas. The cover of the sheet music depicts her in a kind of dirndl: she is from a German speaking country. The boy wears a ridiculously large bow tie and equally ridiculous Bermuda shorts; he must be an American! This also explains his bad pronunciation of German, and mixing in English. Understandably, the fräulein doll is very disapponted, turns lesbian-pedophile, and runs away with a girl child.
