The 1935 British film "The Village Squire" is notable for two things - it marks the debut of a very pretty young Vivien Leigh, and also features a singing Yokel, who crops up throughout the film for 'local colour' - at each appearance he is singing (loudly) something quite inaudible, except it always concludes with "..Tis I!.." or on one occasion "..with only one exception..'tis I!" - his appearances become more and more annoying as the film progresses, but that damned song has become one of those ear-worms that has bugged me for years. Does anyone know a bucolic ballad that concludes with '..'tis I..' I'd be delighted to get this thing out of my system for ever...
