Brian That's a lovely turn of phrase. I didn't mention all the changes that MacColl made. I find it interesting that he burnished the protagonist's Robin Hood credentials by omitting the line "Myself in grandeur to maintain and to support my girls" and having him give the money he stole from the revenue collector "to a widow to protect her", rather than returning it to the collector's lady.
