On Chants populaires français (that I highly recommend to anybody interested in French trad songs) there's this version said to be found in
"Georges Bourgeois - Vieilles chansons du bocage vendéen, page 75" -not to be found online. The lyrics are in Vendée dialect of French.

Dans les ridaines

Des Forges de Pompons !

Au curé d'Aubegnon
Dans les ridaines

Au curé d'Aubegnon
Dans les ridaines
Don don don.

3. En rentrant dans l'église (bis)
A d'mandiront pardon…

4. Qu'avez-vous fait les feilles (bis)

Translation

THE GIRLS FROM THE FORGES

1. These are the girls from the forges (x2)
Pompom forges!
In the ridaines*
Don don daine
Pompom forges!
In the ridaines
Don don don.

2. They went to confession (x2)
To the priest of Aubegnon
In the ridaines
Don don daine
To the priest of Aubegnon
In the ridaines
Don don don.

3. As they entered the church (x2)
They asked for forgiveness...

4. What did you do, girls (x2)
That you ask for forgiveness? ...

5. I roamed the dances (x2)
Disguised as boys ...

6. Did you have any breeches (x2)
Above your petticoats? ...

7. I had the breeches (x2)
But no petticoats ...

8. Go away, girls (x2)
There is no absolution ...

9. They went to the inn (x2)
To the Aubegnon inn ...

10. Ah! Good day fellow, (x2)
Do you have any white wine? ...

11. They drank fifteen bottles of it(x2)
To see if it was good ...

12. When drinking the sixteenth (x2)
They said that it was good ...

*"un ridain" (masc.) is a crease, furrow -or whatever you call it - on the sea floor but for the life of me I couldn't find what "une ridaine" (fem.) is. Or maybe the final "e" is just to rhyme with "dondaine" as we have many songs with "ton ton tontaine" or "don don dondaine" and it doesn't mean anything.
