That is great, thanks.

A copy of a letter from Tannahill himself giving confirmation of the five verses is what I was looking for.
Odd that R.A. Smith on receipt of the letter later chose to publish only four verses in his Scottish Minstrel of 1821.
And since that time only four verses are given in most other publications. The third verse has largely been forgotten.


I won't need to see the letter for myself.
