from Jonathan Ward and Dust to Digital

Excavated Shellac: An Alternate History of the World’s Music (1907-1967) includes 100 recordings and 100 stories in an extensive, illustrated 186-page e-book with detailed, contextual mini-histories about both musical origins and the beginnings of the recording industry, touching on the complexities of colonialism, economic agendas, and cultural tourism.
With almost all of the tracks never before reissued, this collection expands upon and acts as a companion to Grammy-nominated producer Jonathan Ward’s research and work.
Excavated Shellac: An Alternate History of the World’s Music (1907-1967) is available for digital download exclusively on Bandcamp and Dust-to-Digital's website.

This digital set offers immediate accessibility to a treasure trove of audio gems, historical imagery, and in-depth research.

About the production: All 100 tracks were newly-digitized then expertly-restored by multi-Grammy Award winner Michael Graves at Osiris Studio. In addition, the 186-page e-book was beautifully-designed by Grammy nominee Barbara Bersche.
